Excellent Coaching

We use a “compliment and correct” system designed and tailored to each student’s needs. It blends honest instruction with encouragement so every student improves and stays motivated. Five simple principles guide every lesson.

Teaching Methods

1

1. Compliment & Correct

Compliment strong suits, correct flaws without being overbearing, then close with encouragement. This builds enthusiasm, confidence and self-esteem for the next lesson.

2

2. By the Numbers

First do (1), then (2), then (3). Breaking technique into ordered steps helps students remember and repeat the right patterns.

3

3. Repetition

Learn it correctly, then repeat until thinking is no longer required. Repetition builds the muscle memory that wins fights. Repetition is the mother of skill.

4

4. Reason & Knowledge

It helps to understand why you perform a move. A real reason behind every punch, block and step makes the technique stick.

5

5. Mastering the Inner Game

Releasing the mind of thought and procedure, using the student’s intuitive mind to perform correctly and naturally under pressure.

Coaching in Action

Every lesson blends technique and effort, on the mitts, the bags, and through real conditioning. Here is what coaching at Chicago Fight House looks like:
